Oil above Justice

The Associated Press recently investigated and gave out statistics publicly about the oil spill and BP. I wish to share those with you right now before I give you my take. First up, did you know that the oil spill has cost BP nearly four billion dollars? Sounds like a lot right? Not to BP. Another fact, four billion dollars is ONLY a QUARTER of what BP profited in 2009.

In the 1970's, when another oil catastrophe took place, oil companies provided the Government ideas for companies investing into state of the art clean up techniques. To ensure that another spill wouldn't happen again.

You've seen what they’re doing to clean up the spill, real state of the art, huh?

Once again BP wants to sweeten up the Government by saying they will invest in state of the art clean up to prevent another spill from happening again. Even though they promised that in the 70's and it's happening again now. Another thing, the judge that will be deciding whether or not BP will be banned from offshore drilling for six months, has STOCK IN BP.

Fear not, oil hasn't touched Washington, right? In 2009 McCain/Palin ran with the idea of having an energy cap law. It has been dropped. I saved the best for last, though, the statistic that shocked me the most. As of day 100 we have only lost a quarter of what America uses as a whole in ONE DAY.

Ladies and gentlemen, oil is our drug. We are so dependent on oil it's ridiculous. We have given BP and other oil companies so much power and money, that BP will go absolutely unscathed. While we search for alternative energy, remember these same companies are dishing out millions of dollars to silence alternative energy. If we got competition in energy with oil we would be less dependent therefore they will have less power and profit. And as we watch history repeating itself with their promises of state of the art technology to the government in the 70's and to today I hope you realize that what they are doing is just a repeated attempt to save their companies and profits.

There’s another spill going on right now and it's going on all over our government with our representatives having stock in BP etc. BP ruined a major source of income and economy in the gulf. They have taken away what people base their lives on. And through all this BP can just lie to Washington and each and every one of us over and over again and they will receive NO JUSTICE just a small hole in their pockets out of LAST YEARS PROFITS.

I really hope that I am not the only person who says NO to what BP is saying.
